Invented in the late 19th century by a duo of French perfumer and phamacist, the Papier d'Arménie have been around in every French household for decades. Meant to improve indoor air quality, the paper strips are torn out from little booklets, folded accordion style and burned as an incense infusing the air with a sweet aroma. Made of burning papers coated in benzoin tree resin, it was discovered that burning this styrax tree sap helped to purify the air. Years later, the Papier d'Arménie established itself as a household staple for many French families. Great for use in the kitchen or bathroom to clear the air with no need to tend to a continuous burning flame as with candles. Each paper kit comes with a pack of 6 booklets of 3 fragrances. Choose from white glaze or terracotta ceramic burners.
